Readers of Twenty Boy Summer often ask me if I’ve ever found red sea glass, which is featured on the book cover and throughout the story (and is truly the rarest and most difficult to find). Like Anna Reiley in the book, I have an extensive collection of sea glass in all sorts of shapes, sizes, and colors in mason jars on my desk.
But red?
Stop by The Word Ninjas for the answer!
Where can someone find sea glass?
Hi Mary! Sea glass can be found along the shores of many beaches — both oceans and lakes — especially in areas with course or rocky sand. I just went sea glass hunting with my Mom yesterday in Buffalo and wrote about it here if you’d like to read about it: https://sarahockler.com/2009/08/12/treasure-hunting-on-lake-erie/
Good luck if you decide to look for some! 🙂
