Author Copies & On the Map Contest

Guess what I got today? Okay, if the title of today’s post didn’t already give you a hint, here’s a visual:

Contest: Put Twenty Boy Summer On the Map!

The books have left the warehouse and are on their way to bookstores and libraries everywhere. Although June 1 is the official publication date, you may see Twenty Boy Summer on the shelves before then. And if you do… I want to know about it!

From now through June 30, If you happen to notice this lovely little book with the blue-green sea glass heart on the cover out in the wild somewhere, take a picture or video and send it to me, along with the city and state where it was taken, at sarah dot ockler at gmail dot com. For an extra entry, take a picture or video of the book with you in it, holding it or pointing at it or singing to it or doing some other creative (but not illegal) thing. 🙂

Pics and videos will be posted (without names, unless you tell me to include your name!) at SarahOckler.com along with a Google map showing all of the places Twenty Boy Summer has been spotted in the wild. I’ll randomly select a name from the entries on July 1 to win an awesome Twenty Boy Summer beach prize pack, featuring all sorts of fun summer things.

  3. Great contest…loved your vlog…will be on the look out for the book. The BN near me often puts books out early so fingers crossed the trend continues. =)

  4. Awh! That was super cute and well worth pausing my tv for. The Barnes here puts books out early all the time so I will have to go track 2 copies down. Have to get one for Yan and her cow drawing.

  7. Nice. Although it’ll be past the deadline, I’ll take it with me to China and get some good photos. Do I get extra points if it’s on top of Mao’s coffin? And will you send bail money?

    • You will get TONS of extra points for a stunt like that! OMG! Not so sure about the bail money though… let’s see how the book sells!

  15. Congrats on the book! Barnes & Noble called me @ 4:15 today to let me know my copy was in & could be picked up at my convience. Of course i was at work when they called and already had dinner plans, but at 8:58 pm this evening i purchased my very own first edition copy of Twenty Boy Summer. Can’t wait to see how it all plays out.
