Thursday, January 19, 9PM ET
Join Sarah Ockler and Zoe Alea this Thursday, January 19th, for a Twitter book party celebrating Sarah’s latest YA novel, Bittersweet! The party will feature behind-the-scenes book secrets, an author Q&A free-for-all, and a trivia contest with awesome prizes!
Since Bittersweet is the story of ice-skater-turned-cupcake-baker Hudson Avery’s struggle to find and follow her dreams in the snowy, rustbelt town of Watonka, we’re giving away a grand prize in her honor:
Hudson’s Winter in Watonka Survival Kit!
The kit features everything you need to survive the coldest months of the year, wherever you are:
- A $25 bookstore gift card (for great books to read under the covers!)
- A DVD of The Cutting Edge (best ice skating movie ever!)
- Betty Crocker’s Big Book of Cupcakes (so you can make your own!)
- A pair of warm-n-fuzzy fleece socks
- A yummy selection of hot chocolate, tea, and edible goodies!
We’ll also give away autographed copies of Sarah’s novels randomly throughout the night. Don’t get left in the cold during this fun Twittersweet party!
Instructions & Guidelines:
- Be sure to follow @sarahockler and @zoealea before the party.
- All party tweets, including questions for Sarah and trivia answers for prizes, must use the hashtag: #bittersweetbook
- To be eligible for prizes, participants must have a U.S. mailing address and be at least 13 years old (or have a parent or guardian enter for you).
- If you don’t already have a program/method for following chats, the easiest way to follow and participate in the Twitter party is to go through TweetChat. Simply sign in to Twitter at party time and visit this link: http://tweetchat.com/room/bittersweetbook. Tweeting through TweetChat via the link will automatically add the #bittersweetbook tag to your tweets. Simple!
- All participants are eligible to win autographed books – these will be given away randomly throughout the night.
- Participants can earn points toward the grand prize by tweeting the first correct answer to the trivia questions posted at the party. Trivia will include questions from the book as well as random related topics like ice-skating, cupcake baking, hockey, winter, and any other fun subject we can think of!
- Points will also be awarded for asking Sarah creative and interesting questions.
- Already read Bittersweet? Awesome! You can earn early bonus points by sharing your honest book review on Amazon, B&N.com, or Goodreads! Simply tweet a link to your review(s) using the #bittersweetbook hashtag anytime between now and the party night, and you’ll receive 1 extra point for each review posted!
- After the party, all points will be tallied. Whoever earns the most points wins the grand prize!
